Pursuant to School Board Policy 2:150, the Board of Education may establish committees to assist with the Board's governance function and, in some situations, to comply with state law requirements. Each committee reports directly to the Board of Education. Committee members may include both Board Members and non-Board Members depending on the committee's purpose. Committee appointments are made at the organization meeting of the Board that is held following the consolidated election in April of odd numbered years. Committee meetings are typically held once per month. The purpose of the Facilities Committee is to review facility work across the district, provide guidance on strategic facility initiatives, and ensure community involvement in the district's facilities processes.
This school year the Board of Education will be modifying its meeting format a few times throughout the year to hold "CommUNITY Conversations with the Board of Education". Instead of a regular Board meeting where action items are voted on, the meeting will be a topical discussion.
The first CommUNITY Conversations will be held on Oct. 18 at 7pm in the cafeteria at Station Middle School, followed by a tour around the new classroom addition. It will focus on the following topics:

  • Framework 220 Strategic Priorities (Personalized Learning & Future Readiness) and how the new classroom additions at Station and Prairie Middle Schools are positively impacting teaching and learning
  • District update on Safety and Security Measures

Sunny Hill is a place like no other. Every single adult at this school goes above and beyond and loves every single one of our students. Our students know they are appreciated, respected and seen. We celebrate and embrace differences and being unique. We see those differences as strengths to take pride in. We have so much to give, so much to teach and so much to hope for. Once a Tiger Always a Tiger!
